Georganics: Oil Pulling Spearmint Mouthwash

  • This blend of Coconut oil and Spearmint leaf essential oil, has a fresh flavour and properties very similar to that of Peppermint oil but with much softer minty flavour. It is a strong antiseptic, eliminating germs and promoting healing.
    1. Fluoride free, SLS free & glycerin free
    2. Plaque reducing blend with organic coconut oil
    3. Certified PETA cruelty-free & vegan ingredients
    4. Recyclable glass jar & aluminium lid
    5. Compostable cardboard box and vegetable ink
  • Take 1-2 teaspoons of oil, swish it around the mouth for 5 up to 20 minutes before spitting out.

The longer you hold the oil in your mouth the greater the effect.

For the best results swish until the oil has turned a milky white, indicating that the bacteria has been “pulled” off.
  • Georganics started with a question. Are chemicals in oral care products necessary? After spending time researching solutions they quickly found out that nature already offers alternatives to commonly used synthetics in most oral care products. Georganics was born. They started as a small company, selling their products at farmer's markets, and now have transformed into a large retailer whose products are offered at Whole foods, planet organic and more.

They value transparency and sustainability and strive to avoid any synthetics or chemicals. They also champion zero waste and plastic-free products.

In Depth: TOOTHPASTE and Toothbrushes

Toothpaste:

About 1 billion toothpaste tubes are sent to landfills every year.

Toothpaste tubes are made from either aluminium or plastic. The process of creating aluminium is highly wasteful and plastic tubes are rarely recycled due to the complex nature of separating the leftover contents from the toothpaste packaging.

In addition to this, the chemicals and microbeads found in some toothpastes cause immense damage and harm to our environment when washed down the drain.

Toothbrushes:

Every year in the US alone over 1 billion plastic toothbrushes are thrown away.

That's enough to circle the Earth 4 times!

Conventional toothbrushes are made from polypropylene plastic and nylon. Both of these materials are made using non-renewable fossil fuels, with the production of nylon being especially harmful to the environment.

If everyone switched to bamboo toothbrushes it would prevent an estimated 22 million kilograms of waste every year in the US alone.
