Dermaplaning FAQs

Should I dermaplane with a wet or dry face?
To safely dermaplane, start by washing your face thoroughly to remove any skincare or makeup products, then pat it completely dry. While some people prefer using a small amount of lotion or soothing aloe vera gel for added glide, this is entirely optional—just go with whatever feels best for your skin.
What is the purpose of dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning serves as an effective alternative to traditional exfoliation. Its purpose is to remove dead skin cells, dirt, and vellus hairs (peach fuzz), allowing skincare products to absorb more effectively and helping to create a smooth, radiant complexion.
What is the difference between dermaplaning and shaving?
The main difference between dermaplaning and shaving lies in the type of blades used. Our safety razors have smooth blades designed to remove longer, more prominent hairs, while our dermaplaning blades have fine, serrated edges. This serration helps the dermaplaning tool effectively lift away dead skin cells and impurities, offering a deeper exfoliation compared to standard shaving.
How often should you dermaplane?
Every person has different hair growth, but typically you should dermaplane once every 1-3 weeks.
How often should you change dermaplaning blades?
You should change the blade in your dermaplaner tool after every 2-3 uses or if you start to feel the blade pulling.
Will dermaplaning give me flawless skin?
Many people notice an immediate improvement in their complexion after dermaplaning. However, for the best results, dermaplaning should be part of a well-rounded skincare routine. While dermaplaning provides effective exfoliation, it works best in combination with other skincare products, helping them absorb and perform more effectively.
