Jungle Straws are handmade in the Thanh Hoà region of Northern Vietnam. An area blessed with an abundance of rain and sun, creating the perfect conditions for growing and farming bamboo.
Bamboo in Asia has traditionally been used as a material for construction. Many countries still use bamboo to create scaffolding or small buildings. But the species of bamboo grown solely in Thanh Hoà province has long been considered weak and inferior to Chinese or Indonesian species.
The reason for this is because bamboo from Thanh Hoà has a unique property. It is the only bamboo species to have a hollow interior…. Making it unusable for construction, but perfect for drinking straws.
Other species of reusable bamboo straws that originate from China or Indonesia have dense interiors that do not allow liquid to pass through. This is what makes Jungle Straws completely unique and special when compared to other bamboo straws.
