  • Our double edged bamboo safety razors are precision engineered and perfectly weighted to provide a seamless zero waste shaving experience. Each reusable razor is equipped with a unique long handle bamboo grip for comfort, and a stainless steel safety guard to prevent cuts and irritation.

    Our sustainable DE bamboo razor sets all come packaged plastic-free in a stunning, bespoke designed kraft paper gift box, accompanied by a user guide for beginners.

    Our bamboo razors are completely unisex and make the perfect sustainable gift for women or men, but we understand that making a change can be daunting. So we have created a user guide for safety razor beginners.

  • Our plastic-free double edge safety razors use standard issue universal razor blades which are available to buy here or in most supermarkets, large pharmacies or barbershops. We also produce razor blade disposal containers which can be handy for storing used blades to recycle in bulk.

    We recommend using a quality eco razor blade, from established brands such as Shark or Derby. To fit your razor blade, unscrew the razor head and place your double edged razor blade between the two stainless steel parts that form the head, making sure that the ridges on the bottom half of the head are pointing upwards.

    Once the razor head is reattached and facing the correct way, your reusable bamboo razor is ready to use! You should use each razor blade no more than 8 times per side (total 16 uses).

    When you are finished with your razor blade, wipe clean and recycle.
  • Our plastic-free bamboo razors are very easy to use and after 1 or 2 uses you will have already mastered your new razor!

    Before shaving, apply hot water and zero waste shaving soap(or a similar shaving foam) whilst your safety razor soaks in hot water.

    Once you are ready, tilt your new razor at a 45-degree angle, making sure to avoid any diagonal movements and swiping either directly downwards or upwards in the same way that you would use a disposable razor.

    From time to time rinse your safety razor bamboo handle and razor head with hot water to avoid build ups of hair and once you have finished shaving, be sure to wipe your razor until dry with a tissue or cloth. This will ensure that no rust builds up on the razor blade.

▼What is a safety razor?
Safety razors were first invented in the 1800’s, but popularised by Gilette in the early 1900s when they were issued to the US army.

Double edged safety razors like the ones we make at Jungle Culture have removable heads and use razor blades which are replaceable and plastic-free, a fantastic sustainable alternative to disposable razors. 

A double edged safety razor always has a protective razor guard built into the head, which significantly reduces the chance of cutting.
◄Can I recycle safety razor blades?
Absolutely! Safety razors are very eco-friendly and all blades can be recycled.

To recycle your eco-friendly razor blades, simply wipe them with a wet cloth and place in a metal recycling bin.

No. They don’t. There are several different types of eco safety razors. Our razors are double edged and can only use double edged blades.

◄Are safety razors good for sensitive skin?
Using a sustainable safety razor gives a close and clean shave, whilst avoiding irritation to the skin. In order to further reduce the chance of irritation, we recommend using your zero waste razor in conjunction with Jungle Culture shaving soap or a high-quality organic shaving soap.
◄Which safety razor blades are best?
There are many manufacturers of high-quality razor blades, but here at Jungle Culture we like Shark blades.

Derby blades provide a great zero waste shaving experience with a modest price tag.
◄How many times can I use a safety razor blade?
A good sustainable razor blade like the ones sold on our website can be used up to 8 times per side (total 16 uses). This varies according to the user.

Love the design!

I really like how these razors look in my bathroom. I apreciate the option to choose the handle size and colour too. I opted for the light skinny version as I feel its quite feminine and plan to get a darker chunky version for my boyfriend.

Sleek and effective

The razor is really neat and effective! I love the sleek design, and found it very easy and comfortable to use. I was a bit nervous about attaching the blade, but it was actually really easy to do. I would recommend this as a great option for people wanting to reduce their waste, but still have items that work really well!
